(Now, let’s meet these inspiring women!)

Do you have a mantra, quote, or philosophy that guides you in life?

My philosophy is ' Nisi Dominus Frustra '' which means in Latin , ' Without GOD all is in vain .

What’s one piece of advice or wisdom you’ve received from another woman that has stayed with you?

Never give up when things get tough !

What are some societal expectations or pressures that you have faced as a woman? How do you stay true to yourself while navigating them?
As a woman in the hospitality industry for nearly 30 years, I’ve certainly faced various societal expectations and pressures, both professionally and personally.

In the workplace, there have often been assumptions about leadership styles or the balance between career and family life, especially in senior roles. As a mother and wife, there’s also the expectation of maintaining a perfect balance between my career and home life, which can sometimes feel overwhelming. However, staying true to myself has always been a priority. I remind myself that authenticity, both in my professional and personal life, is key to long-term fulfillment.

I strive to be a role model not only by demonstrating leadership in my career but also by being present for my family. I’ve learned that it’s okay to set boundaries, delegate when necessary, and take time for self-care, which ultimately helps me perform better in all areas of my life.

I believe in the importance of constantly evolving and staying open to change, but I also trust my instincts and values. The key is not to conform to societal pressures but to create your own path based on what feels right for you.

What legacy or impact do you hope to leave behind?
The legacy I hope to leave behind is one that inspires others—particularly women—to pursue their dreams without hesitation and to lead with integrity and passion.  The impact I hope to make is one where I can be remembered as someone who not only achieved success in my field but also helped others along the way to realize their full potential.

On a personal level, I want my children to remember me as a mother who worked hard to build a career that she loved, but who also never sacrificed what mattered most, being present for them, showing them the importance of kindness, perseverance, and following their own paths.

Above all, I hope to leave behind a legacy of balance: knowing that success is not just about career achievements, but about creating meaningful relationships and nurturing the people around you.

Heels or flats—what’s your vibe, and why?
I’d say it really depends on the day and my mood! On most workdays, I love a good pair of heels – they give me that extra boost of confidence and make me feel powerful,  especially when I’m in meetings or interacting with guests.

At the same time, I’m a big fan of flats when I need to stay  comfortable and be on my feet all day. There's  something about the ease and practicality of flats that just feels right, especially when I'm running around after work or spending time with my family.

Ultimately, I believe in  balancing both – style and comfort should go hand in hand, no matter the occasion and Oleah shoes definitely fit the bill !

Evon Heng

As Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PropNex Malaysia, Evon Heng is more than a real estate leader—she’s a powerhouse on a mission. With over 15 years of experience, she’s passionate about empowering women, shaping communities, and redefining success in property and beyond. Whether it’s guiding future leaders or helping people invest in their dreams, Evon is all about making big things happen!

What’s the best and worst advice you’ve ever received?

Best advice: "Own your journey". No one else is responsible for building your dreams except you. This advice has shaped my leadership and personal growth, reminding me that success comes from taking full ownership of my path.

Worst advice: "Wait for the right moment.” I’ve learned that waiting for the ‘perfect time’ often leads to missed opportunities. Progress happens when you take action, even if the timing isn’t ideal.

Can you share a challenge in your personal or professional life that once felt impossible, but in overcoming it, you realized how much you had grown?

There was a time when I stepped into a leadership role where the expectations were sky-high, and I faced resistance, doubts, and setbacks. I questioned myself, but I refused to let fear dictate my path.

Instead, I focused on building trust; acting and leading by example. Overcoming this challenge not only strengthened my confidence but also showed me the power of resilience and the impact of believing in oneself. Today, I embrace challenges as stepping stones for growth.

What’s one lesson you hope young women today will carry with them into the future?

You are worthy and you are unique—never let doubt silence your voice or compare yourself with others.  Step into every room with confidence, knowing that your dreams, ideas, and ambitions are just as valuable as anyone else’s.

How would you describe your personal style?

Effortlessly confident and purpose driven. My style is a blend of sophistication and functionality—classic yet modern, refined yet bold.

I believe in dressing for impact, whether it’s in the boardroom, on stage, or in everyday life. A strong pair of heels and a sharp mindset are my go-to essentials.

If you could design the Oleah Classic heel in any color, what would it be and why?

A deep royal blue—because it represents wisdom, power, and depth. It’s a color that stands out with elegance and strength, just like the women who wear it.
A reminder that every step we take is bold, purposeful, and unstoppable.

Siti Fatimah

Siti Fatimah is redefining the game in a traditionally male-dominated industry. As an engineer in oil and gas, she loves tackling challenges and finding innovative solutions. When she’s not busy problem-solving, you’ll find her soaking up KL’s vibrant city life, staying active, and diving into the local arts scene—a newfound passion that’s adding even more color to her journey. From engineering to creativity, Siti is all about pushing boundaries and embracing every new experiences that come her way!

What does confidence mean to you, and how do you nurture it? Do you have a “power outfit” or favorite accessory that makes you feel unstoppable?

Confidence is about understanding my strengths and my unique attributes, and letting them shine through in every aspect of my daily life - whether it’s at work or in social settings. Outfits definitely enhance confidence as being well-dressed will capture attention.

I especially love the dark top and lighter bottom combo as I am wearing in this shot as it is different from the usual dark bottom combo - this for me is an example of a power outfit as it makes me feel like I can take on the world!

In addition to choosing colors that complement my skin tone in my outfits, I also think clothes that fit well (regardless of body size) will give confidence as well.

Can you share a challenge you’ve faced in your personal or professional life and how you overcame it? What motivates you to keep pushing forward, no matter the obstacles?

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted everyone greatly and it was no different for me. Six months into the lockdown, I had to relocate from Labuan to Kuala Lumpur to assume my new role in the regional office in KL - and with COVID restrictions in place I had to manage the entire move by myself without any help from my loved ones - including packing and unpacking my 4 years of belongings (with help from the movers of course) and my four adorable cats across the South China Sea.

The new role was an exciting one that would move my career into the direction I wanted, so I went ahead with the move and I have no regrets. KL was a ghost town when I arrived and years later, I am still adjusting to the traffic here!

What is one piece of advice you wish you could have given your younger self?
Self-care is important. Take care of your physical body, your mental health, your spiritual self first - before caring for others. You can only be your best for your loved ones when you’ve learned to love yourself first!

When you're running late but still want to look great, what’s your go-to pair of Oleah shoes?
These black Terra heels are perfect and it goes with most of my wardrobe - they’re probably the ones I wear the most as they’re very comfortable and the unique heel design stands out, whether it’s for when I have to be on stage for an event or when I’m walking around the city Center in KL from one meeting to another. It definitely helps to give that “put together” look for my entire outfit.
