The story behind Oleah X World of Ying Collaboration

How it All Started

When Ying from World of Ying first approached us for a collaboration, we found that, we were both on a similar journey of professional and personal change — learning to trust our own voice again, to create with meaning, and to find beauty in the process of renewal. Her concept of wearable art resonated with me — quiet, emotional, and full of transformation

For Ying, after taking a reflective year of painting for the joy of creation, Ying returns as a fabric marquage artist, hand-painting one-of-a-kind pieces that celebrate emotion, spontaneity, and the unfiltered spirit of her artistry.

For Oleah, we deepened our roots in Singapore while stretching gracefully into new cities — Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. We’ve partnered with new suppliers who share our commitment to quality and precision, and I’ve now fully dedicated myself to nurturing Oleah’s growth after 14 years of working in the corporate world, creating beautiful shoes that carry both care and purpose with every step.

Meeting of Two Worlds

This connection became the heart of our collaboration — a meeting of two worlds: Oleah’s pursuit of comfort and craftsmanship, and Ying’s delicate artistry that turns everyday objects into poetic expressions. Together, we wanted to create something that reflected hope, growth, and transformation — themes that have shaped both our journeys.

This November is a special milestone for me personally and for Oleah. The brand turns seven! And it also marks my first full year of being fully devoted to Oleah. This past year has been a quiet rebirth — one of rebuilding, refining, and rediscovering what it means to create from the heart.

Iris Orchids: Symbol of New Beginnings, Transformation and Hope

In this spirit, Iris orchids and Daffodils take centrestage in this collaboration. Both flowers were chosen for their symbolism of new beginnings, transformation, and hope. Orchids have always been close to my heart, and with our Vanda series loved by so many of you, it felt only natural to draw inspiration from the Iris Orchid for this collaboration.

The Collab Shoes

In collaboration with Ying, we have created 2 designs for pre-order:

  • A 5cm covered-toe Mule with a detachable flower clip, offering two looks in one pair of shoes.

While mules are not part of our usual repertoire, this collaboration encouraged us to embrace experimentation and push boundaries. The mules are designed for women with wide feet and bunions in mind but the fit can also be adjusted if you are not as wide.

  • A 8.5cm V-cut vamp high heel, designed as a blank canvas for bespoke hand-painting by Ying.

This was intentionally made as a simple pump for women who value classic, timeless silhouettes but want the option to jazz it up with bespoke painting. You can also purchase the Iris flower clip separately and attach them to this high-heeled pump to create 2 looks as well.

Both shoes come in 2 colours - Pure White and Rose Beige / Almond.

Wearable Art Exhibition held on 8-9 Nov

In November, we celebrated the Oleah x World of Ying collaboration with a special event that brought together art, craftsmanship, and wearable design. Guests explored hand-painted shoes by Ying, the co-designed covered-toe mules, and a curated selection of accessories from kindred brands including Eden + Ellie, KWANPEN, Qipology, and a breathtaking paper flower installation by Koh Dawn. It was an intimate celebration of creativity, transformation, and the beauty of thoughtful design — you can see highlights and reflections from the day on our LinkedIn Page here.
